SLUGGER^® Hydraulic Bar Shears
Slugger was founded in the early 1970s as the result of innovative engineering to design a powerful hydraulic bar and billet shear with horizontal actuation. The Slugger design provided a smaller, quieter, safer and more accurate bar shear than any other it its class.

The Slugger corporation was acquired by Bemcor, Inc. in the early-80's and the product line grew to include 11 models from 40 tons to 1600 tons with the capacity to shear bar stock up to 7 ¾" diameter. Today, Slugger is a division of Advanced Equipment Systems, LLC, with complete manufacturing, service and rebuild capabilities in-house.

Advanced Equipment Systems specializes in the manufacture of hydraulic bar shears and custom material handling solutions for the metals and metals fabrication markets. AES offers on-site installation and service and stock a wide range of replacement parts. AES steel bar, billet, tube and rod material handling systems include:

The Slugger name originated with company founder, J. Daniel Lazar, after his professional baseball career. Lazar was a pitcher for the Chicago White Sox in 1968 – 1969 and is a member of the Indiana State University Hall of Fame.
