New and Rebuilt Hydraulic Bar Shears
SLUGGER® Bar & Billet Shears
Slugger hydraulic bar shears are available as new units with capacities from 40 to 1600 tons, and also as remanufactured models with new and rebuilt components. Slugger shears are engineered with a powerful horizontal shearing action that enables better accuracy, higher productivity, and faster blade changeovers than many other industrial bar shears.
SLUGGER® Advantages Include:
-
Quiet, Accurate Bar Positioning
The Slugger uses standard length gauges or an optional Slugger Length Adjustment Mechanism (SLAM), which includes dual encoder equipped pinch rollers and a closed loop microprocessor to supply signals that quietly position the bar for accurate length cuts. Crop elimination is automatic and there is infinite length capacity. -
Fast Changeovers
Top loading shear blades and push plates are independent of the hydraulic piston so they can be changed quickly and easily with a single operator. -
Versatile Infeed and Outfeed Systems
Slugger hydraulic bar shears are fully compatible with manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic bar handling and index systems. -
Superior Capability for Long Billets/Parts
The Slugger is an excellent fit for long billets and part lengths (over 18") due to its horizontal action whereby a bar can be supported and discharged more easily during the shearing process.
